Investigations & Journalism
Bringing Truth Into the Light.
Many of the systems impacting children, families, and vulnerable seniors operate far from public view.
Courtrooms are often sparsely attended. Families feel isolated. Cases remain hidden behind complex procedures, sealed records, and bureaucratic systems that few people understand.
American Made was built on a simple belief:
Sunlight matters.
Transparency matters.
Truth matters.
Through investigative journalism, documentaries, interviews, original reporting, books, podcasts, and public awareness campaigns, we work to bring important stories into the light and ensure that families are not forced to fight alone.
Our Approach
we investigate.
we listen.
we tell them.
Our goal is not simply to report individual cases, but to identify larger patterns, expose systemic failures, amplify the voices of affected families, and help educate the public about issues that often receive little attention.
Experience Matters
American Made's investigative and media efforts are led by Ann Vandersteel and Maureen Steele.
Ann Vandersteel
Ann has spent years building one of the most recognized independent journalism platforms in America. Through investigative reporting, interviews, documentaries, and national media appearances, she has earned the trust of millions of viewers seeking independent reporting and deeper analysis of issues impacting the nation.
Maureen Steele
Maureen is a nationally published writer, grassroots organizer, and advocate whose work has appeared in numerous national publications. Her essays, investigative articles, and long-form storytelling focus on the human impact of public policy, institutional failures, and the resilience of the American family.
Together, Ann and Maureen bring decades of experience in journalism, media, advocacy, public education, coalition building, and grassroots organizing.
Documentary Storytelling
Stories move people.
Statistics inform. Stories inspire action.
American Made produces documentaries, investigative series, interviews, written reports, and educational content designed to shine a light on issues affecting children, families, and seniors.
Projects include:
Amplifying Family Voices
Not every story becomes litigation.
Not every case becomes a headline.
But every family deserves to be heard.
While the United Law Coalition focuses on identifying systemic legal issues and strategic litigation opportunities, the American Made media team works to elevate important stories, document patterns of abuse, and help bring public attention to issues that might otherwise remain hidden.
Through interviews, articles, documentaries, podcasts, and media partnerships, we help families share their experiences and contribute to a larger conversation about accountability, transparency, and reform.
Do You Have a Story That Deserves Attention?
Have you witnessed patterns of abuse, misconduct, or institutional failures impacting children, families, or seniors? We want to hear from you.
