About This Series

This series explores the history of American law and citizenship — including admiralty law, the gold-and-silver money question, the legal-personhood debate, and the 1933 emergency declarations — as a study of how the constitutional republic was structured and how citizens have understood their relationship to government over time.

Recent sessions have covered topics such as DBA (Doing Business As), special deposits, co-suretyship, and the Fourteenth Amendment. Sessions are offered for civic education and historical discussion.
