We MUST file a tax return each year... but with KL's process, it's different than your typical 1040.

This Zoom call will review how to file as "Exempt" from withholding with the IRS — and have it be accepted!

There are updates this year — and if you are a new student in the last year, viewing this replay should help get you up to speed and ready for this Zoom call, while answering most of your initial questions before Thursday. 😇

SUMMARY

Thanks to your Declaration of Status (DOS) filings,
YOU the real person, and the $$$ you make as a Private American are EXEMPT.
Your CAPS entity however, is a public entity & must still file as required as a U.S. Citizen!!
This explains how!!

February 5th will be the follow-up of last month's review on filing with employers to stop them from withholding income tax from your paychecks — but it's okay if you missed that; this month will still stand on its own!

Called a "Return Delinquency", the IRS Form 15103 is a formal correction of record with the IRS to clarify your status.
The good news is the 15103 is accepted by the IRS. It's their form!!

⚠️ You cannot and should not ignore or avoid responding to their presumptions (they WILL hound you for not filing).

NOTE: Filing a "normal" IRS 1040 return risks undoing your DOS claim because you would be admitting by this filing that you (the real person) are = a US Citizen, agreed to file as one, and may owe taxes (even if you put "$0" for income...).
If you or your CPA did this after your DOS was filed, please email KL.

  • 15103 example and blank template to use
  • Instructions to file your 15103 packet
  • W-2 and 1099 examples to show how to correct their claimed "income"
  • Income Tax Affidavit Template
  • IRS Cover Letter Template

NOTE — This filing is only for your individual personal earnings, and NOT for any business filings, properties, or other entities in the public. File normally for those. If unsure, please email KL or email your question to be answered on the call!!

⚠️ If you or your CPA have unknowingly/accidentally filed your personal taxes "normally" with a 1040 (and not the 15103), AFTER your DOS was filed, it's okay!!....we are able to correct the record. Please email KL so he can help!
